Injuries: it’s a Chelsea thing.
The latest to succumb to such misfortune has been Guro Reiten, who’s become one of the best players in the women’s team over the last couple years. The 29-year-old chipped in with 13 goals last season, for example, the most in a season for her Chelsea career. And it still feels like she’s a bit underrated even with a Ballon d’Or nomination under her belt now.
Unfortunately she’s now going to miss an undefined but extended period after picking up an ankle injury in training — guessing several weeks; hopefully not several months.
“Guro’s is an ankle ligament injury, so I don’t know (a timescale for her return). She’s in a boot, but then that’s normal to put people in boots with that (type of injury).”

Reiten scored our last-gasp equalizer at Manchester City a couple weeks ago, but has not played since. While others have stepped up (such as Niamh Charles creating goals from the left side, or Sjoeke Nüsken getting a hat-trick over the weekend), we’re going to need Reiten back soon if we want to fulfill all of our ambitions this season.
