Chelsea FCW have been relatively quiet in the transfer window, certainly compared to the pervious 12-18 months, but just ahead of the start of the season on Sunday, have confirmed an important addition to the team.
Former Bristol City WFC head coach Tanya Oxtoby has joined Emma Hayes’ coaching staff as an assistant. Oxtoby had been with Bristol City for the past 3.5 years, leaving the club officially at the end of last season — though she had been on maternity leave since January — which saw them finish bottom of the WSL and thus relegated to the Women’s Championship.
“To be joining such an illustrious team of players and staff is a true honour.
“I always said it would take something special for me to end my maternity leave early, and when this opportunity arose, and after to speaking to Emma and Paul, it felt like the ideal move for me. I’m looking forward to working not only with world-class players, but the amazingly talented staff at the club and being able to contribute to further success.”

Oxtoby is a UEFA A-Licensed coach and a sports psychologist, and joins Denise Reddy in assisting Hayes.
