Chelsea FCW all-time leading goalscorer has signed a new contract extension with the club, which will keep here at Kingsmeadow for at least another two years, through 2023. An option for an extra year is built into the contract as well, as confirmed by the Chelsea Official Website earlier today.

Kirby’s having her best season for Chelsea yet since joining from Reading in 2015, which is saying something because she’s had stellar seasons before. But as the team around her improved greatly in the last couple years, so has she, which is even more remarkable when you consider her battle with pericarditis. (She’s reflected on that journey before, and also more recently in a great interview with ESPN.)
Kirby, who will turn 28 this summer, has 15 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions this season (72 in 110 for her Blues’ career), and if she keeps that up, we might just be looking at not just another WSL title, but perhaps some European glory as well!
Congrats, Super Fran Kirby! Let’s keep winning things!
