Chelsea FC Women manager Emma Hayes is already a living legend, not just at the club, but in the whole wide world of (women’s) football, and her status as such has now been recognized by the nascent FA WSL Hall of Fame as well, which took the rather unprecedented step to include a still-active person in the game as one of their four inaugural members. That’s not how Hall of Fames are supposed to work!
In any case, Hayes was obviously honored to be included, even if she’s far from ready to reflect on her career just yet, which is now in its tenth season at Chelsea.
“I’m honoured and surprised. I think only when my careers done, will I really reflect on what we’ve achieved. While I’m in it, I’m always trying to find an edge every day.”

The other three inductees include Arsenal legends Kelly Smith and Rachel Yankey, as well as England’s all-time caps leader, Fara Williams, who retired in the summer after 172 appearances for the national team.
Congrats to all three, but especially to Hayes. Now, back to work!
