I neither confirm nor deny that I threatened immense and unfathomable pain if Bethany England was not named 2019-20 Player of the Year, but regardless of the crimes I neither admitted or denied, today Bethany England was named 2019-20 PFA Player of the Year.
This follows her recognition as the 2019-20 WSL Player of the Season back in July.

England has had quite the Chelsea journey and was well-deserving of this accolade. Vivienne Miedema was the only player to score more goals then England, but the Arsenal striker also won two fewer trophies (0). England had a remarkable season which was unfortunately cut short by the pandemic.
Until that point though, she had scored the match winner in the league cup final versus Arsenal, notched 14 goals in 15 league matches, and was on a league scoring streak of nine consecutive matches, which started in November and spanned through February.
In addition, England also made the PFA WSL Team of the Year, and was joined by FIVE (5!) teammates.
Goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger, center back pair Magdalena Eriksson and Millie Bright, right-back/midfielder Maren Mjelde and all-action attacking midfielder Ji So-Yun comprise six of the eleven slots on the 2019-20 Team of the Year. Incredible, and wholly deserved.

Speaking of deserving, five Chelsea players have been called upon for international duty with England: Carly Telford (GK), Millie Bright (CB), Fran Kirby (RW/AM), Bethany England (ST) and a first senior call-up for new signing Niamh Charles (LW).
Congratulations to these mighty, mighty Blues!
