Although Chelsea remain one point behind Manchester City in the FA Women’s Super League table after their 3-3 draw a fortnight ago, the Blues have a match-in-hand and are in prime position to go top once that postponed match against Everton is made up.
Chelsea also remain unbeaten in the competition, with 12 wins and 3 draws in 15 matches, with a league-best 47 goals scored (47!) and just 11 conceded (the second best total after City).
For those efforts, and more, Blues boss Emma Hayes and the irrepressible Bethany England, who is on a nine-match goalscoring streak and just won the League Cup with a last-minute goal, were duly recognised by winning WSL’s Manager and Player of the Month awards for February. They had both won the same award for the month of January as well; in fact Hayes has now won it three times this season. Goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger was also nominated for the Player of the Month.
Congrats to both!
Unbeaten in February!
