There’s been some confusion about Lewis Hall’s situation at Newcastle United, specifically about the conditions of his loan move from Chelsea, and what his future may actually entail.

When he left in the summer, it seemed certain that it was a final goodbye, but his own head coach wasn’t so sure not too long ago, especially as Hall has not been as involved as he might have expected. The 19-year-old has less than 270 minutes to his name spread across ten appearances so far, and in three of his fours starts, the last of which came two months ago, he has been taken off at half-time.

But according to the Telegraph, there is no confusion. Hall will remain a Newcastle player this January, and will also see his loan converted to the expected transfer at some point. The conditions for Newcastle’s obligation to do so are apparently not strictly tied to appearances and the terms, whatever they may be, “are likely to be met”. The fee is reportedly £28m with £7m in further add-ons.

I guess that’s that then.
