David Dator Fofana was recalled from Union Berlin earlier this week by Chelsea, but after stopping by Cobham to say hi and grab a cup of coffee, he’s now on his way back out already.
As rumored and expected, the 21-year-old’s loan move to Burnley for the rest of the season was confirmed today. As it turns out, it’s just a straight-up loan, without any further options or obligations.

Welcome to Burnley, David
Fofana did not have the best of times in Berlin, with the whole team around him struggling mightily after last year’s historic campaign. He managed just 2 goals in 17 appearances (11 starts).
Burnley, the second-lowest scoring team in the Premier League, will be hoping for better returns from the former Molde FK prospect.
DDF’s loan switch did help free up a foreign-loan slot, which was swifly taken by Ian Maatsen.
Good luck, David!
