A recent report from the Telegraph’s Matt Law mentioned that (somewhat shockingly) Chelsea would be willing to “listen to offers” for Callum Hudson-Odoi (among more expected names), despite reports earlier this summer making it pretty clear that the 20-year-old isn’t looking to leave and we’re not looking let him leave.
But would we be open to a loan? That’s apparently what Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio are contemplating, if reports from the likes of Gazzetta dello Sport, Il Messaggero, and several others in the crowded Italian calciomercato space are true. They would be targeting the Chelsea winger as a one-season alternative to acquiring Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostić, a deal that is proving troublesome thanks largely to financial considerations.
Maurizio Sarri’s side, who were previously also linked with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, apparently feel that they can entice Chelsea by promising to give Hudson-Odoi regular game-time this season. There’s been no formal offer or approach made just yet, but the idea is now out there, so we get to deal with this rumor now, too. Hudson-Odoi has been heavily involved in preseason, from the very first day, though mostly at wing-back during the friendlies.
