It’s been a tough 18 months for Chelsea youngster Dujon Sterling, but the Academy graduate looks to be back from the various injuries and illnesses he had been dealing with since January 2020, and is ready to get his career back on track as well.
And after training with the first-team to begin preseason, he now heads out on loan to finish his rehab and get back to playing regularly. He will do so with Blackpool, who earned promotion from League One by way of the playoffs last season but have not had the best of starts in the Championship, collecting just two points from their first five games.

Prior to heading out, Sterling has signed a new contract with Chelsea as well, and it’s not just a token extension, but rather a new two-year deal, reportedly with an option for a third as well. The 21-year-old was once among the highest rated right back prospects in the youth system (which certainly is saying something when some of the others included Reece James and Tariq Lamptey), and he still has every chance to live up to that promise.
Good luck, Dujon!
