Juventus have been hot on the heels of young Manual Locatelli, who impressed at Euro 2020/1 and has been playing very well for his club team, Sassuolo over the past couple season in Serie A as well. The 23-year-old midfielder is said to be the priority target for The Old Lady, though their negotiations have run into some obstacles as of late.
Should those obstacles prove insurmountable, Juventus are giving consideration to Chelsea spare man Tiémoué Bakayoko, with Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness) claiming him to be Juve’s “plan B” to reinforce their midfield this summer.
Bakayoko was previously linked with AC Milan and Napoli, but those trails have gone cold. Whether Juve’s considerations lead to anything more concrete remains to be seen. In either case, no resolution is expected in Bakayoko’s future plans until the very end of the transfer window — with Chelsea still hoping to offload him for good but most Serie A clubs are playing their usual loan games.
