One of the more intriguing names linked with Chelsea this summer has been young and highly promising midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, who has been trying to engineer a move away from Rennes.

PSG have been front-runners for his signature throughout, but with just a week left in the window and still no move in the offing, the 18-year-old’s representatives are scrambling. As L’Equipe (via GFFN) report, they are hoping to solicit some action from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United, presumably to motivate PSG into action, but perhaps to also explore an opportunity in the Premier League.

Camavinga has just one year left on his contract, and Rennes’ asking price is thus set at just €30m. But it would appear, at least right now, that Chelsea probably won’t be biting, not even on a buy-and-loan-back deal. (And neither are Manchester United, having already spent big in the window without any notable sales.)

Our focus instead appears to be on Saúl Ñíguez, if anyone, as per multiple reports yesterday. The 26-year-old apparently wants to prove himself at another club after falling down a bit in the pecking order at Atlético, and often also being played out of position in the playing time that he did get. Chelsea have reportedly tabled a loan bid, with a buy-option.
