Like his comic book counterpart, Michy Batshuayi’s set for another origin story, this time at Turkish Süper Lig champions Beşiktaş, whom he joined today on loan for the season.
The Batsman Begins (again) by the Bosphorus!
Beşiktaş are paying a small loan fee (€1-3m) and may or may not have a buy-option (€5-10m?) for the 27-year-old striker, who has tried his luck at Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, and Crystal Palace since first signing with Chelsea in 2016, with mixed and mostly not so great results — though he’s still managed to score 25 for Chelsea at a 1-in-3 clip and nearly matched that in all his loans combined as well (20 in 70).
O Beşiktaş’ın ihtiyacı olan her şey!

Because Batshuayi’s contract was set to expire next summer, he’s also signed the customary additional-year contract extension, though surely it would behoove all involved to find a more permanent solution to his situation. Hopefully he does find a lot of success in Turkey and convinces Beşiktaş (or whoever) to throw a few euros our way next summer.
Good luck, Michy!
