Chelsea have been rumored to be interested in Pape Matar Sarr, and that interest remains as per the Daily Mail and Football Insider, whose reports claim that Chelsea are among the Premier League heavyweights who are tracking the 18-year-old and are hoping to entice Metz into a transfer.
Those heavyweights include both Manchester clubs as well, with all three teams ready to sign Sarr and then loan him back to the Ligue 1 side for the season.
The highly rated midfielder has had a meteoric rise over the past twelve months, arriving at Metz from Senegalese club Génération Foot, getting promoted to the first-team after just one reserves match, and even making his senior international debut with Senegal in March.

Sarr is mainly a defensive midfielder, but is proficient at playing anywhere across midfield. He made 25 senior appearances last season, and scored 4 goals. His contract with Metz runs through 2025 and Metz’s asking price is reportedly £27m, which is certainly an impressive sum at this point in the young man’s career.
Still, he is considered to be one of the brightest talents in France right now, and could well serve as a potential long-term heir to the great N’Golo Kanté...
