Chelsea center back Matt Miazga has been quite adamant about quitting the Loan Army after spending half a decade in it, but it looks like he will have to settle for yet another loan spell.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 26-year-old defender is set to join La Liga side Alavés for the season ahead, which presumably also means that he will have extended his contract with Chelsea, which is currently due to expire next summer. (Unless there is some sort of future clause, or we’re just being extra generous.)

Alavés finished last season in 16th place in La Liga, only four points away from the relegation zone. They had been looking for a center back to help shore up a defence that had given up 57 goals last year.
Miazga had a successful loan in Belgium with RSC Anderlecht, but could not secure a permanent move. He’s also had loans at Reading, Nantes, and Vitesse.
