Kurt Zouma appears to be the odd man out among Chelsea’s centre back ranks — even though he’s the only one signed beyond next season — but surprisingly, the rumor mill has been rather quiet in this regard. AS Roma had reportedly taken a cursory interest, but there has been a general lack of reported interest in the 26-year-old.
However, as with most transfer dealings at Chelsea, things appear to be happening in the background. According to Téléfoot in France, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all in the hunt.
Wolves have supposedly already seen an approach rejected (by Zouma himself), but they could come back into relevance thanks to Chelsea’s reported interest in Adama Traoré. Meanwhile, former Wolves manager, Nuno Espirito Santo is likely driving Spurs’ interest in the centre back, though convincing Chelsea to do business in this case is probably impossible.
That leaves Everton, whose interest in Zouma is long-standing (ever since he went there on loan), and José Mourinho’s AS Roma, who may be readying a loan-to-buy offer in classic Serie A fashion.
As far as Chelsea’s centre back situation goes, we’re reportedly looking to extend Antonio Rüdiger and Andreas Christensen. And while neither César Azpilicueta nor Thiago Silva are getting any younger, Reece James’ future could also lie at centre back, especially if Tuchel persists with the three-man defensive setup.

#Mercato
