Highly rated centre back Jules Koundé is attracting the interest of a number of Premier League sides, and that number continues to grow, especially now that he’s done with France duty for the summer.
Local reports in Seville claim that Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all closely monitoring the player’s situation, and there is a strong belief that a deal can be done for €65-70m. Chelsea are seemingly the frontrunners, said to have already made an approach, while Koundé isn’t interested in Arsenal (no European football) and Manchester United are still prioritizing a move for Raphael Varane.
As per the Guardian, La Colina de Nervion and Gianluca Di Marzio, incoming Tottenham Hotspur manager, Nuno Espirito Santo has also requested the 22-year-old’s signing. Spurs are thus preparing a bid worth €55-60m (same as Manchester City’s unsuccessful attempt last summer), though Koundé wants to play in the Champions League, which they cannot offer.
What Koundé does want, seemingly, is a move to Real Madrid. They are hoping to use Isco as a makeweight in a potential deal, though Sevilla want cash only, as per Marca. Real are not too keen on spending big on a centre back, since they’re supposedly allocating the majority of their funds towards signing Kylian Mbappé.
El Tottenham prepara por Koundé una primera oferta de entre 55 y 60 millones de euros, parecida a la del City. Además de los Spurs, Madrid, Chelsea y United apuntan al francéshttps://t.co/rbGa7qcdB3
