Looks like things are finally happening and moving in the right direction with Olivier Giroud’s expected move to AC Milan this summer, with the teams reportedly agreeing a transfer fee today to put them just “one step away” from finalizing all the remaining minor details. (Sometimes those final details seem to drag on forever...)
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the transfer fee is just €1m, with a further €1m due if Milan qualify for the Champions League or if Giroud makes a certain number of appearances. Certainly nothing too extraordinary, but it’s a win on principle for Chelsea considering the rumors of us willing to let Giroud go for free despite signing him to a one-year contract extension back in April.
Milan had previously agreed personal terms on a two-year deal with the veteran striker, though the 34-year-old still has to pass a medical and sign on the dotted line before things can become officially official.
Soon!
