Saša Kalajdžić is “thought to be” under consideration at Chelsea in case we decide to spend money on a striker not named Erling Haaland — unwise choice, but a possible choice always — and unlike the vast majority of players we’ve been linked with this summer, the 24-year-old stiker has not ruled out a potential change of scenery for himself this summer.
But, as he told journalists a couple days ago, it would have to be something quite impressive to get him to do so, at least as impressive as his impressive 2m height.
“If there is something that really impresses me, where I say I want to do that, then I’ll do it too. I’m relaxed. I don’t really think about it much. I’m just here right now, having fun with my friends and trying to prepare for every single training session,”
Of course, it’s not just a transfer offer that could impress the big man from Vienna, who has two years left on his contract at Stuttgart.
“I can imagine extending my contract. But that would have to fit. It’s not just me who decides, others also decide.”

Kalajdžić scored 16 goals last season in the Bundesliga in a breakout year that also saw him grab a consolation goal for Austria against Italy in the knockout stages of Euro 2020 — one of the rare few goals conceded by the Azzurri on their way to winning it all. Previous rumors put his price tag at around €40m, which isn’t exactly cheap and could easily make him a good but overpriced addition to a top team like Chelsea.
But if Tammy Abraham does leave and the speculation around Erling Haaland never turns into anything more than that and we’re not ready to give the spot to Armando Broja, something impressive could conceivably show up in Kalajdžić inbox.
