Chelsea still just sitting on Flamengo offer for Kenedy — report

The waiting game

Another week gone, and the Kenedy situation remains unchanged as the waiting game between Chelsea and Flamengo continues.

Chelsea hold most of the cards, and continue to patiently await a better offer than Flamengo’s loan (with option to buy) bid for the 25-year-old, who may have as many as three years left on his contract. As reiterated by Goal, Chelsea are more than willing to slow things down and wait for a transfer offer instead (probably from a European team). Meanwhile, Flamengo are trying to stay calm, though they are the ones under pressure to fill the gaps in their squad in their efforts to defend their league title.

There is some hope for Flamengo however, as other teams aren’t exactly champing at the bit to go after Kenedy, who’s apparently already convinced that returning to Brazil would not be a step backwards in his career. In fact, it looks like he’s still there despite getting recalled to training by Chelsea.

And so, the clock keeps ticking.
