Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour has joined Norwich City on loan for the season, with both teams confirming the deal today. Gilmour passed his medical with the Canaries on Thursday, after emerging from the self-isolation that was imposed due to his positive COVID-19 test at Euro 2020, and completing all the remaining formalities necessary.
Billy Gilmour will spend the 2021/22 season on loan in the Premier League with Norwich City. ✍️

Good luck, @billygilmourrr!
Gilmour is the third major new signing for Norwich, who won the Championship last season and are returning to the Premier League after a one-year absence. They are (still) led by Daniel Farke, just as they’ve been since 2017. Farke was previously the head coach at Borussia Dortmund II when Thomas Tuchel was the head coach of the first-team there. That relationship was apparently key in agreeing this loan move for Gilmour, who will hopefully get plenty of minutes in the upcoming season.
“I’m very excited to be here. I can’t wait for the season ahead. I’ve been looking forward to coming here, playing as much as possible and helping Norwich City compete in the Premier League.”
“I spoke to the head coach [Daniel Farke] here. He called me and we had a nice talk about how he wants to play and how he sees me fitting in. Everything he said was what I want to do on the pitch, get the ball down and play nice football. He spoke really highly of his team and I wanted to come join here and help.”
“There are very exciting times ahead, coming in for pre-season and seeing all the lads. Let’s get to it.”

Any bets on Billy G getting the Man of the Match on his debut?
Good luck!
