Jorginho’s agent has never seen a microphone he wasn’t willing to talk into, and after his main man became Double European Champion last night, he once again found himself in close proximity to one.
Beyond just celebrating the accomplishment, the questions inevitably turned to Jorginho’s future, which has seen plenty of speculation even if most of that has been baseless. Jorginho himself made it very clear back in May that he’s not going anywhere (”How could I want to leave?”) and with a key role for club and country and with two years still left on his contract, there’s little reason to want to change that.
That has left Mr. Agent with little room to maneuver when it comes to possible contract extension talks. All this supposed vague interest from Italy doesn’t carry much actual threat.
“He has a two-year contract and everything is in the club’s hands. There’s the Clubs World Cup, there’s the European Super Cup. For a footballer these are important goals. But, the transfer market is always the transfer market and if a major club comes forward seriously with Chelsea, then we will evaluate. At the moment, Jorginho will play at Chelsea next season.”
“I confirm it, these interests have arrived. Of course, at 29 he can do very well in all the top European clubs and many are interested in him.”

While Jorginho isn’t going anywhere, a fellow European Champion is inching closer to leaving Chelsea. Emerson looks increasingly likely to be heading to Napoli, and is apparently already gathering tips from Jorginho about the city.
“I know that Emerson Palmieri has asked Jorginho information about the city of Naples and the way of football life in Napoli. We’ll see what can happen on the transfer market. Jorginho will stay at Chelsea for another year, then we’ll see”.
