The initial chatter regarding Erling Braut Haaland has died down a bit in recent weeks, thanks in large part to Borussia Dortmund qualifying for next year’s Champions League, which was seen as a minimum requirement for keeping the 20-year-old goal-machine. The number of teams able to afford Haaland’s supposed asking price north of £150m was already pretty small, and that’s only gotten smaller as well in the meantime.
But Chelsea are still in the running, or back in the running, as it were, after striking out on Romelu Lukaku, who declared his intention to stay at Inter Milan.
As per the Telegraph’s Matt Law and ESPN’s Jan Aage Fjortoft, Chelsea are still intensely “pursuing” Haaland, though that intensity has yet to spill over into an official bid. For now, our efforts are strictly behind the scenes, and are focused on figuring out if this transfer is at all “viable” in the first place.

Both reports agree that said viability doesn’t just involve whether Haaland would want to actually move to Chelsea (rather than, say, Real Madrid) or whether BVB would agree to a transfer and at what price, but also whether we could even fit Haaland into our “wage structure” whatever that may be.
The Telegraph’s report adds that we have floated the prospect of sending Tammy Abraham the other way, either in part-exchange or as a separate transfer, though without rating the chances of either scenario happening.

Chelsea working intense to get Erling Haaland.
He is seen as the “missing” player to make them challenge for the PL-title next season.
Fee very high, but confidence that this can be solved.
The main obstacle could be the wage-structure at Chelsea
