The latest chapter of Bayern Munich’s Callum Hudson-Odoi Saga has not quite lived up to the dramatic expectations set by all the previous chapters, and mercifully, just like the final season of Game of Thrones, it looks to be over quite quickly as well.
Last month’s initial reports that Bayern were ready to resurrect their pursuit haven’t quite generated the reaction that they had been hoping for, and neither Chelsea’s supposed asking price (£35m++) nor, as it turns out, Hudson-Odoi’s own financial demands are to Bayern’s liking. That’s a similar story to what’s come before as well, so it’s unclear just what they might have imagined Hudson-Odoi would do. The 20-year-old is reportedly happy to stay and fight for his place after playing a decent amount of minutes (though not consistent minutes) last season.
Julian Nagelsmann wants to keep Kingsley Coman, though. By the way, Bayern Munich's interest in Callum Hudson-Odoi has, somewhat unsurprisingly, vanished, as they couldn't offer him the salary he currently earns at Chelsea anyway. #Bayern #CFC #LFC https://t.co/jsrkIUzMAT

Bayern could’ve been hoping to set this up as a contingency plan in case they lost Kingsley Coman, but it looks like no one’s going to cough up the €50m needed (including Chelsea, who were tenuously linked), and the 25-year-old will probably just sign the extension on offer once new head coach Julian Nagelsmann convinces him.
Update #Coman: Yes, #LFC is definitely interested in signing him and they are in contact with his management. But right now, it’s not a hot topic. #FCBayern still want him to extend, especially Nagelsmann. But Kingsley‘s father forces his departure to . @SPORT1
