It was only a matter of time, and the time has now come.
AC Milan have officially completed the signing of Chelsea center back Fikayo Tomori. The 23-year-old joins for a fee of right around €28m, signing a four-year contract through 2025.
Said fee was agreed as part of the loan that sent him to Milan in January in the first place, and while the team did try to negotiate that down with Chelsea, they were already getting a very good deal. Chelsea stood firm, and so the transfer has gone through, via the buyout clause.
Tomori’s fall from grace remains one of the more mysterious developments of Frank Lampard’s 18 months in charge, but the Chelsea youngster, who joined the Academy at the U-8 level back in 2005 found himself a great spot in Milan, impressing from day one, and we certainly wish him all the very best.
Until we meet again!
