Jonathan Clauss

With Achraf Hakimi closing in on a move to PSG, Inter Milan have started looking at replacements for the Morocco international. Alongside the likes of Emerson Royal and Alessandro Florenzi, the Nerazzurri also have Chelsea-linked Jonathan Clauss on their radar, as per L’Equipe. Inter have seemingly already held talks with Clauss’ entourage, with the 28-year-old’s contract expiring in 2023 with Lens.

Jonas Hofmann

Alongside newly-linked Adama Traoré, the Telegraph has also mentioned Jonathan Hofmann as another option to challenge Reece James. However, according to BILD (via Leicester Mercury), Chelsea will face competition from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City and Atlético Madrid for the Germany international’s signature, with Atlético thought to be leading the race.

The versatile Borussia Mönchengladbach player has been attracting attention from a number of clubs following an impressive Bundesliga campaign. His contract runs through 2023, and Gladbach reportedly value him at €15m.

Emerson Palmieri

Inter Milan have had a long-standing interest in Emerson, but according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sempre Inter), they will struggle to get a deal done since Chelsea’s asking price for the Italy international is €20m. The financially troubled Serie A champions are seeking low-cost options to reinforce the squad, and can’t afford Emerson at the current valuation.

Despite that, his agent, Fernando Malta, hinted at a return to Italy for the 26-year-old.

“Due to his connection with the national team he has often been associated with important clubs such as Juve, Inter and Napoli. When a transfer window begins, there are always rumors about him. Now, Emerson needs to focus on the national team. This season with Chelsea has been very special. With Tuchel he has a great dialogue. Now, we need to understand what Chelsea’s next steps will be and what their future will be next season.”

“He had a period in Serie A where he made the leap in quality. If there were all the conditions, if there was the ideal scenario, he would be happy. Of course, as an agency we don’t just focus on there. Emerson has attracted the attention of other championships and other major continental realities.”

Davide Zappacosta

Davide Zappacosta has been linked with a potential move to Atalanta, and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, he is the favorite to reinforce the Bergamo club’s wing-back positions.

Robin Gosens is attracting interest from the likes of Barcelona, Manchester City and Leicester City, and should Atalanta get an offer between €30m-€35m, they are willing to let him go and replace him with Zappacosta, who was part of their team once already, back in 2014-15. Zappacosta’s contract with Chelsea expires next year, and Atalanta are banking on that fact to get a deal done on the cheap.
