The latest name to enter Chelsea’s centre back rumor mill is Matthijs de Ligt, but he’s not going to stay very long. Tuttosport report that Chelsea, alongside Manchester United and Barcelona have made enquires for the 21-year-old, but they have been all turned away by Juventus.

Chelsea’s and United’s interest are described as more “discreet”, while Barcelona’s more overt. The Blaugrana lost out on the former Ajax star back in 2019, and apparently want to make up for that as they begin a rebuild of the team (and their stadium). With Juventus mired in a disappointing season which has seen them drop out of the Champions League spots in the Serie A with three games to go, Barca are hoping to take advantage of the situation — even though both clubs are also dealing with various financial difficulties as evidenced by their staunch refusal to let the Super League nonsense go.

As expected, Juventus have no intention of letting De Ligt leave, with the youngster one of the few “unsellables” on their roster.
