After being linked with loan moves for Conor Gallagher and Ross Barkley, Newcastle United have apparently added Billy Gilmour to their wishlist also, while also pursuing Tammy Abraham, as per the Northern Echo.
The Magpies’ interest in Abraham was supposedly dead due to Chelsea’s £40m asking price, but with no one yet willing to meet that valuation, Newcastle have fresh confidence — especially as Chelsea might contemplate a loan move (much later in the transfer window).
As per regulations, Newcastle can loan only one of the quartet however, which could spell trouble for their supposed interest in Billy Gilmour. The young midfielder could be one of the most likely current first-team players to drop into the Loan Army for next season as he looks to collect crucial minutes for his own development — which might be hard(er) if we sign one of our own rumored midfield targets, like Declan Rice or Aurélien Tchouaméni.
#NUFC keen on loan deals for Chelsea duo - but neither will be especially easy to complete. An awful lot of clubs looking for the same type of player this summer... https://t.co/dQ7RFm5akp
