Callum Hudson-Odoi has had a better 2020-21 than 2019-20, setting career highs in appearances, minutes, and Premier League goals — and matching his career high with five goals in all competitions — but it’s also been a quite inconsistent season, with a strong run of games and form in the middle (especially when Thomas Tuchel first took over), but starting slowly and fading even harder towards the end of the season. His last start came at the start of April and he’s made just four substitute appearances in the dozen matches since.

Of course, he’s still just 20 years of age (twenty!), and on a long-term contract, and now almost with 100 professional appearances for the club already, but that hasn’t stopped speculation about his future — Borussia Dortmund, anyone? — especially with Chelsea again linked with the likes of Jadon Sancho and Kingsley Coman.

Fortunately, we didn’t have to wait too long for such stories to get debunked, with Hudson-Odoi himself apparently having no intentions of leaving Chelsea and wanting to keep fighting for his place in this young and improving team. According to Goal, Chelsea are also well aware of Hudson-Odoi’s potential and see him with a long-term future at the club.

So, nothing to see here. Move along.
