Raphaël Varane’s future grows more and more uncertain by the day, with Chelsea said to be monitoring the situation for at least the past couple months. Varane is apparently looking for a new challenge after a trophy-laden, decade-long stay with Real Madrid, and despite Real’s best efforts to hold on to him, their attempts are proving to be futile.
According to Marca, Real had been hoping to keep at least one of Sergio Ramos or Varane, but now both of them look likely to leave the club at the end of the season. Similarly Chelsea-linked Jules Koundé and Pau Torres are the leading replacements rumored, with the funds from Varane’s transfer also set to be used to help bring in Kylian Mbappé.

Another center back who’s been linked to Chelsea for the past several months has been Bayern Munich’s Niklas Süle, whose future also remains uncertain.
Incoming Bayern Munich CEO, Oliver Kahn wants to set a deadline for a new contract in the coming weeks, as mentioned in Sport BILD (via Abendzeitung), with Chelsea supposedly set to intensify our efforts for the 25-year-old should those talks not produce any results.
