Sergio Aguero was said to be keen on staying in the Premier League past the summer, with Chelsea one of the favorites for his next destination. The latest reports from the Evening Standard and the Telegraph have backed those views, with Aguero himself said to be tempted by the prospect of signing for the Blues.
The 32-year-old is seemingly eager to break Premier League records, and is apparently aware of Chelsea’s interest in his services. Aguero has been able to talk to clubs from abroad since January, which has given other clubs like Barcelona, PSG and Juventus a head-start in the race, but the player is said to be well-settled in England, and that could prove to be the deciding factor.
Aguero would reportedly even forego the prospect of playing in the Champions League next season in his bid to stay in England, and he would apparently consider a move to Tottenham Hotspur as well, provided the offer is right.

Of course, Aguero is only a secondary target for Chelsea, with the focus still remaining on signing Borussia Dortmund’s generational forward, Erling Braut Haaland. According to Eurosport, the race for the Norway international could become just a tad bit easier, with Real Madrid seemingly not in the running anymore. The La Liga side are unwilling to meet Haaland’s agent, Mino Raiola’s commission demands, and have lost patience with him after a breakdown in talks with his other clients like Paul Pogba and Gianluigi Donnarumma in the past.
Los Blancos are apparently only interested in signing Kylian Mbappe, and the fabricated interest in Haaland is to drive the latter’s price up, which would make it more difficult for Barcelona to sign him. And that strategy could indeed work, with ESPN reporting that it will be difficult for Barcelona to meet BVB’s terms for Haaland, due to the financial situation of the club. Barca are not giving up on the race for the 20-year-old’s signature just yet, but there is an acknowledgement that this will most likely be a quiet window for the Catalan club.
From Dortmund’s perspective, they are hopeful that Haaland and his entourage will not force a move this summer, as per kicker (via Inside Futbol), but as it has been repeated several times already, qualification for next season’s Champions League remains key.
