Jose María Giménez
Atlético Madrid were said to be considering a sale of their star defender in order to attain some much-needed funds. However, according to Marca, Giménez is not planning on a move, and is quite happy to stay with the current La Liga league leaders.
The Uruguay international feels completely at home at Wanda Metropolitano, and is focused on lifting the La Liga title this season. And he wants to be a part of Atletico’s future, so even though clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City are interested in his services, a transfer does not appear to be on the horizon.
Ibrahima Konaté
Liverpool had been the favorites for the RB Leipzig defender’s signature, and while a deal is not done yet, they’re apparently making progress on a summer transfer. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds are working towards reaching an agreement with Leipzig and have prepared a 5-year contract for the France U21 international. However, the Bundesliga side are said to be holding out for the full €32.5m amount in his release clause, and this could allow other clubs like Chelsea to make moves of their own.
Liverpool are still working to reach an agreement with Ibrahima Konaté. He’s one of the ‘top targets’ in the list and #LFC will be offering a five-years contract. Not done or agreed, as of today. RB Leipzig will only sell Konaté if the full release clase will be paid. #LFC

Raphaël Varane
Manchester United were said to be in advanced talks with Real Madrid for Varane’s transfer, but as expected, Chelsea are set to join them in the race. According to Christian Falk, the Blues will be competitors to the Red Devils for the World Cup-winner’s signature, whose current contract runs through 2022, with Thomas Tuchel said to have great interest in the player.
Real have been trying to extend Varane’s contract for some time now, but to little avail, and the 27-year-old said to be looking for a fresh challenge. Real’s initial asking price is €70m, as per Marca.
