Borussia Dortmund are one of the clubs who have been substantially affected from a financial perspective by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the Bundesliga side possibly needing to raise funds through player sales, especially if they were to miss out on Champions League qualification. They are currently four points off fourth, after yesterday’s 4-2 defeat at Bayern (despite leading 2-0 after just ten minutes).
However, BVB are far from the only club thus affected, and are hoping that will help them maintain the status quo, and prevent any record-breaking bids for their biggest stars, be it Erling Braut Haaland or Jadon Sancho.
“Overall, I don’t think that crazy things will happen. I know the situation in the European leagues very well, and the clouds are getting darker instead of lighter. [PSG and Man City] are backed by entire states which find ways and means to pump money in.”

While Chelsea do not enjoy the same level of financial backing that PSG and Manchester City do, Roman Abramovich has always ensured that we remain at least competitive in the transfer market, and that doesn’t look set to change anytime soon.
In fact, Chelsea The Blues are set for another summer of heavy investment, with Haaland right at the top of the wishlist. Previous reports seemed to hint that Haaland is “not interested” in a move to London, but Chelsea are not likely to be deterred by such rumors alone.
