Chelsea-linked Moises Caicedo’s drawn-out transfer saga to Brighton & Hove Albion has finally drawn to an official close, with the Premier League side confirming the transfer of the Ecuador international, who has signed a 4.5-year contract through 2025 at the Amex.

Caicedo was widely regarded as one of the most talented prospect currently playing in South America, with his technique and tenacity on the ball apparently making him a perfect combination of Paul Pogba and our very own N’Golo Kante. That sounds a bit too good to be true, though the fact that Brighton managed to attain him for just €5-6m surely makes him one of the best signings in this low-key winter transfer window of 2021.

The 19-year-old has made 31 senior appearances already, and has been capped 4 times as well at such a young age. While Chelsea have missed out on his transfer for the time being, he’ll certainly be one to keep an eye on in the future.
