Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti may have opened the exit door but Eden Hazard has no intentions of stepping through them, and according to Marca, is still very much hoping to make things work with his dream club. He is reportedly willing to be patient and work his way back into the starting lineup, where Vinícius Júnior has completely displaced him in Ancelotti’s favored 4-3-3 formation.
Hazard obviously isn’t entirely happy with his current situation, but is not willing to give up just yet. And of course, if the situation doesn’t improve, he can always choose to leave next summer, ahead of the World Cup.
According to the report, Real are also willing to give him the full season instead of forcing his departure in January, even if their ultimate strategy is still to get him off their books sooner rather than later — presumably to help accommodate and finance a move for long-term transfer target Kylian Mbappé. They’re likely to find a bigger market for Hazard in the summer anyway, including at recently-linked Chelsea (because that’s an easy story to sell) and Newcastle United potentially (assuming Hazard would even be interested in going there in the first place).
