Sure he does

According to Portuguese media, Chelsea have joined the “list of clubs increasingly following” FC Porto winger Luis Díaz. The Colombia international, who is also courted by the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Liverpool, has started the season on the right note on the left wing, with 6 goals and 1 assist in 10 appearances. He has an apparent price tag of €30m.

This is the 24-year-old’s third season at Porto now, having recently passed 100 appearances for them since joining from Atlético Junior de Barranquilla in 2019. Right-footed and known for his great ball-control, Díaz is also a good dribbler and frequently creates goal-scoring opportunities by cutting in onto his right foot. He came to wider prominence during this summer’s Copa America, where he earned a place in the team of the tournament.

The report adds that Chelsea’s interest is fueled by Kai Havertz’s “bad form” and Hakim Ziyech’s “unexciting performances”, which may be true, but any further conclusions are far too premature. (So sorry, Luis Díaz’s agent!)
