Declan Frith, who only joined Chelsea in May, has already decided to move on, agreeing a deal to join Aston Villa’s U23 side recently. Frith, who arrived from Welling United in the sixth-tier of English football, made five appearances for the Chelsea youth teams. Primarily a left back, the 19-year-old is also quite capable of featuring further up the pitch as a left wing-back.
We wish Declan all the best in his future endeavors!

Staying with left-sided players, Chelsea have been trialing a few potential youngsters, including Bryant Akono Bilongo from Kingstonian — who’s managed by Reece James’ father, Nigel James. While that move did not come to fruition, we are hoping for better luck with Wrexham’s 16-year-old left back, Daniel Davies, whom we recently took on a week-long loan, as per Goal.
Davies recently made his debut for Wales’ Under-18 team in a 1-1 draw with England, and has had trial offers from Liverpool, Brighton and Stoke City, but Chelsea are currently at the front of the queue. There would be no compensation due should Chelsea go ahead and offer him a contract.

Chelsea are also in with a chance to sign Stoke City’s promising centre forward Emre Tezgel, as per the Daily Mail. Tezgel, who has also attracted the interest of both the Manchester clubs, has drawn comparisons with Harry Kane due to his playing style. Tezgel only turned 16 in September, but was a regular for Stoke’s U18s last season.
Tezgel has scored 7 goals in 4 games for Stoke U18 this season and also made his debut for the U23 side. He has also scored 4 goals in 3 matches for England U17 in the Syrenka Cup during the September international break, where he was named the player of the tournament. Stoke obviously want to keep him as well.
Chelsea have also been linked with a pair of attackers in Joshua Pynadath and Leonardo Cardoso. Pynadath, 19, has been trialing with Chelsea since March and has been waiting for work permit authorization. He has formerly played for Ajax and Real Madrid’s youth teams. He last represented USA at the U17 level and is a person of Indian origin (yay!).

Cardoso, on the other hand, is currently signed with West Bromwich Albion but has caught the attention of talent spotters as a result of his age-group displays for club as well as for Portugal and England at youth level. He is currently a member of the England U16 squad. Chelsea want to sign Cardoso in January, before West Brom can tie him to a professional contract once he turns 17 in May.
The Blues are also seemingly interested in two talented 17-year-old goalkeepers in James Beadle and Gabriel, of Charlton Athletic and Bahia, respectively, ahead of the January transfer window.
