Manchester United’s supposedly confirmed move for Moises Caicedo of Independiente del Valle remains far from confirmed as per the latest reports, with the Ecuadorian club denying that any negotiations or even contacts have taken place.
Chelsea have already been linked with a move in the past, and according to a latest report from Ecuador’s El Telegrafo, the Blues have once again entered the discussions for one of South America’s hottest young talents.
Chelsea, alongside Eredivisie club Ajax are said to have enquired about the 19-year-old midfielder, with a view towards a January move. The asking price has been reportedly set at just €4.5m.
Independiente del Valle manager, Santiago Morales, may have even hinted about Chelsea’s interest in the player in a recent interview as well.
“There is another club interested in England and also a team from the five top leagues in Europe.”
“We have two strong teams from Europe interested in him, without reaching any understanding yet, but we hope their negotiation will be prompt.”

MLS club Atlanta United have also seemingly joined the race and have reportedly even made an offer.
The main obstacle that Chelsea would face in signing Caicedo, should we choose to pursue this opportunity, is probably related to the new post-Brexit work permit regulations, but if those can be overcome, we should absolutely try and sign him in this window, especially at that rumored price.
Man United are still on the same position regarding M. Aarons and M. Caicedo

Aarons: appreciated but nothing advanced or imminent now.
Caicedo: talks on by weeks, personal terms and club agreement wouldn’t be a problem - next days #mufc will decide if signing him or not.
