Abdul Rahman Baba, who last played a competitive match in January 2020, has been playing for Chelsea’s development squad this season after failing to secure a move in the summer, despite links to Middlesbrough and Watford. He has made three appearances for the U23s, with his performances even earning him a recall to the Ghana national team, and perhaps some transfer attention.
And sure enough, luck might be finally shining on him as per the latest reports, with Sport 24 and Goal claiming that he is set to join Greek Super League side PAOK Thessaloniki on loan for the remainder of the season.

Baba is apparently in advanced negotiations already, and the deal looks likely to be completed soon. At PAOK, he would replace Dimitrios Giannoulis — who has moved to Norwich City on loan — and would compete with Adrian Nilsen Pereira for the left back spot.
The 26-year-old Baba has been looking to get his career back on track, having been hampered by a series of knee injuries in the last several years. He has had loan spells at Schalke, Reims and Mallorca, as well as 23 appearances for us way back in 2015-16. He will have one more year left on his contract after this season, at which point a more permanent transfer will hopefully be found, for the benefit of all involved.
Baba Rahman is set to join PAOK on loan.

- Long-term view is for Chelsea to sell in the summer
- Like Drinkwater, he needs mins to prove himself to buying clubs ahead of a loan cull
- He's a player who deserves luck having had none since joining https://t.co/sgG8dqFp9W #CFC
