Despite Bayern Munich going on a public charm offensive already, Dayot Upamecano has not made a decision on his future and will reportedly wait until the end of the season to contemplate upon it.

RB Leipzig are just four points off Bayern in the Bundesliga title race at the half-way mark, and will also take on Liverpool in the Champions League Round of 16 next month. It’s eminently understandable, if not even expected that the 22-year-old would want to focus on his present affairs.

A change of scenery this month has been long ruled out, and according to Goal, there is no favorite yet for the France international’s signature this summer, despite earlier rumors about Bayern Munich being in the driver’s seat.

Alongside Chelsea and Bayern, both the Manchester clubs are interested in signing Upamecano, whose release clause is in the region of €42m-€45m. At that price, all teams should be interested.

Playing time and Champions League aspirations are the two factors that will apparently drive any decision made, and since we’re in a bit of a predicament regarding the latter, we might have rely on convincing him about the long-term vision of our project and how he might be key to it.
