It’s finally done!
Chelsea have completed the signing of Kai Havertz for a club record fee. The 21-year-old generational talent has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with Chelsea.
This deal underlines what’s been a fantastic summer already for Chelsea, with the arrivals of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, and Thiago Silva. If this isn’t a gargantuan statement of intent, I don’t know what is!
He’s here!

Welcome to Chelsea, @KaiHavertz29! #HiKai
In total, according to the most recent reports, Kai Havertz will cost Chelsea roughly €79-80m with add-ons, meaning that his transfer fee will be less than Kepa Arrizabalaga’s Chelsea record, even if every single add-on is triggered.
Chelsea have landed the biggest fish of the transfer window, and that’s probably the first time we can say that since 2012, when Eden Hazard joined. Kai, like Eden at the time, is just 21 years old, with an immense potential that should make everyone very excited.
Welcome, Kai! Let’s win some many things!
