PSG appear to have an interest in two of Chelsea’s fringe players, with both Antonio Rüdiger and Tiémoué Bakayoko on their wishlist.
According to RMC Sport, the reigning Ligue 1 champions have now even started “concrete negotiations” for both the players. While there is not much information available regarding the state of play for Rüdiger — earlier reports claim that PSG are aiming for a loan deal — it appears that they definitely only want to take Bakayoko on loan.
PSG are said to be making “tangible” progress but desire a loan with no fee attached, whereas Chelsea want at least a little in return. It’s worth recollecting that AC Milan were willing to pay €3m in loan fees. Negotiations are still ongoing with PSG, and a compromise will likely be reached should an understanding be reached about the total financials of the deal (which was the sticking point with AC Milan).
The report also claims that PSG are simultaneously working on alternative midfield targets, — which may nor may include Soualiho Meïté — so let’s hope that a deal for Bakayoko is reached between the two clubs soon.
