We still don’t know where Tiémoué Bakayoko will end up this season, with AC Milan and Chelsea unable to reach an agreement despite extensive negotiations.
But maybe now we have finally reached a resolution, at least according to a report from Sky Sport Italia, however apparently there is still no haste to actually get this deal over the line. Milan’s “focus” is on getting into the Europa League group stage by beating Irish side Shamrock Rovers, and perhaps selling one of their players — which sound like prerequisites to a finalized deal.
If (and when?) this deal does become official, Chelsea will be receiving only a €3m loan fee — alongside a €30m buy-option — so if another club wants to come in before then, they are more than welcome to make an approach and gazump this deal (looking at you, Crystal Palace). Maybe then, we will see just how much resolve Milan have in investing their resources on Bakayoko.
