The 2019-20 season might be coming to an end for Chelsea today, but our summer spending spree is just getting started.
According to RMC Sport journalist/transfer-oracle Mohamed Bouhafsi, the Blues took one step closer towards the signing of Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz today, with the 21-year old agreeing personal terms with the club on a five-year deal.
#Havertz veut absolument rejoindre #Chelsea !
In addition, Bouhafsi claims that Havertz is clearly keen on moving after spending the last ten years of his life playing for Leverkusen. And that Chelsea are optimistic that after wrapping up the details of Havertz’s contract, we will be able to each an agreement with his club over a transfer paid in installments instead of a lump sum. These pretty much match the narrative established over the past few months.
So, while this current version of Chelsea might be getting throughly outclassed yet again by Bayern Munich as we speak, perhaps the next version of Chelsea will not be.
