While Leicester City are trying to their best to keep Ben Chilwell away from the clutches of Chelsea, making repeated statements to that effect in public as well, Chelsea’s relentless pursuit has no doubt forced the Foxes to start looking at potential replacements just in case.

They have already been linked to the likes of Ryan Bertrand and Nicolás Tagliafico, and that may not be the end of the list. According to Greek outlet Sportime, Olympiacos left back, Konstantinos Tsimikas has emerged as one of the favorites to fill the boots of the England starting left back.

And things could move quickly, even, speculates the outlet, since Tsimikas was just in England to play in the Europa League.

Tsimikas is one of the highest-rated players in the Greek league and his performances over the course of the season have made the big clubs take notice. According to the report, both Merseyside clubs have expressed an interest in the Greek international, with Liverpool wanting a deputy for Andrew Robertson — a bid for Jamal Lewis was rejected — and Everton wishing to bring about more competition for Lucas Digne — with Chelsea-target Sergio Reguilón also on the shortlist.

However, Leicester City appear to be in the lead for this transfer, with Tsimikas said to be on their radar for the past couple months and the Foxes pushing for a move in the past few days.

Tsimikas has been impressive in European competitions as well, with the 24-year-old one of the better players in Olympiacos’ 1-0 loss to Wolves yesterday. Overall, he made 46 appearances in all competitions this season, providing 7 assists.

His contract expires in 2022, which should make a potential move simple in theory. The report notes that there should be some resolution regarding his future very soon, which may nor may not have something to do with Chilwell apparently telling Leicester that he wants to join Frank Lampard’s Chelsea revolution.
