This seems like a bit of final-minute scrambling that may or may not be rooted in reality, but L’Equipe are claiming that Paris Saint-Germain may yet make a final desperate play to keep Thiago Silva, who’s already confirmed that he’s leaving the team and has reportedly accepted a two-year contract at Chelsea.
But a final decision has not been made yet — not expected for another day or so at least — and until that’s done, the veteran defender’s future remains in (somewhat of a) question.
L'Équipe report that there are forces inside PSG who want to offer Thiago Silva a last-gasp contract extension, which could scupper a move to Chelsea. It is no secret that Thomas Tuchel wants him to stay, but Sporting Director Leonardo wants him to go.

Thiago Silva confirmed his departure from Paris after eight years with the team, and is apparently hoping to fulfill a dream of playing in the Premier League. Fiorentina have also made a play, but their offer must’ve not been as enticing as Chelsea’s.
Whether PSG ask Silva to reconsider or not — and with Thomas Tuchel possibly also leaving, that doesn’t seem all that likely — we should know soon what Silva decides.
