A decade into the relationship, the Chelsea-Vitesse partnership continues to flourish, with Armando Broja joining the Dutch top division club today. The 18-year-old will be spending the season at Chelsea B and hoping to build on his breakout season in the youth teams, which saw him even make his senior debut for Frank Lampard’s Chelsea.

Broja is the eighth confirmed loan for Chelsea this season, but certainly won’t be the last and may not be the last to join the Europa League hopefuls. Vitesse missed out on European competition by just three points last season, in an Eredivisie campaign curtailed a couple months early thanks to the coronavirus outbreak.
“I know the examples of Mason Mount, for example, but also Lewis Baker and Dominic Solanke. For myself, I see Vitesse as the ideal club to gain playing time. I want to grow as a player and as a person. And above all: score a lot of goals. I will give everything for that.”

Good luck, Armando!
