Despite the strength of Chelsea’s Loan Army dwindling in recent seasons, there are still quite a few players who will seek temporary moves for game-time and developmental purposes.
First up for this round-up is Chelsea third-choice goalkeeper, Jamie Cumming, who has joined League Two side Stevenage for the season. This will be the 20-year-old’s first loan after spending most of last season training with Arrizabalaga and Caballero in the first-team. Cumming, an England U19 international, has made 81 appearances in the youth teams, including in the FA Youth Cup campaigns of 2017 and 2018.
Welcome to #StevenageFC, Jamie Cumming! ✍️

Next up, talented centre forward Armando Broja is in talks over a move to Chelsea B Vitesse Arnhem on a season-long loan as per Goal and Gelderlander. Like Cumming, this will be the first loan move for Broja as well, and the 18-year-old will no doubt want to emulate Mason Mount’s campaign at the Dutch club. Broja made 31 appearances last season at the various youth levels and scored 19 goals, with an impressive return of a goal every 103 minutes. He made his Premier League debut for the Blues in our 4-0 drubbing of Everton and has represented Albania at the U21 level.
Assuming no new signings, Broja's loan to Vitesse means that George Nunn and Bryan Fiabema project to be the main centre-forwards for #CFCDev this coming season, while Jude Soonsup-Bell and Malik Mothersille lead the way for #CFCU18. All but Nunn are Youth Cup eligible.

The same report from Goal also claims that Trevoh Chalobah, who was on loan at Huddersfield Town last season, has completed a medical at Ligue 1 side Lorient, and an announcement is due soon. The 21-year-old, who represents England U21 on the international circuit, made 38 appearances for the Terriers last season.
Understand that Lorient are looking at Trevoh Chalobah as a midfielder, like Ipswich and Huddersfield before, but we'll see how the season goes.

Speaking of stepping up, 21-year-old Ike Ugbo has agreed a loan move to Jupiler Pro League side, Cercle Brugge after impressing at Dutch second-division side, Roda JC last season, where he scored 13 goals in 29 appearances. This deal will apparently have a €5 million option to buy included.
In more news, there is also foreign as well as domestic interest in Jake Clarke-Salter who played for Birmingham City last season, although it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him depart permanently rather than on loan.
However, the most surprising bit about the report is the claim that Ethan Ampadu wants to stay and fight for his place in the Chelsea senior-team next season. Frank Lampard is apparently a huge fan of the 19-year-old, who had agreed the move to RB Leipzig last season before Super Frank arrived.
Ampadu has seemingly put all moves on hold, despite a plethora of interest (including the likes of Fulham and Norwich City), and the Blues haven’t pushed for a loan move either. Ampadu staying at the club could be insurance as well, with the futures of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante uncertain, but there may be no better place for the Wales international to develop than in Super Frank’s Youth Revolution™.
