Left back will be one of the priority positions for Chelsea to strengthen in the upcoming transfer window.
Ben Chilwell seems to be the obvious first-choice target, but his exorbitant price tag is keeping any interested at bay. Nicolas Tagliafico and Alex Telles are the other rumored targets, but it’s fair to assume that Chelsea are looking at other names as well.
According to ESPN FC, one of those could be Everton’s Lucas Digne.

Both Chelsea and Manchester City are apparently keeping an eye on the France international, with City also monitoring Ben Chilwell’s situation. However, £75 million is excessively expensive for a fullback, especially in the current economic climate, which is why both the clubs could be shifting focus on more reasonable targets such as Digne.
While Everton are not exactly a selling club and Digne wouldn’t exactly be available for a pittance, there’s a belief that the soon-to-be 27-year-old would be cheaper due to his age.
Digne has made 33 appearances for the Merseyside club this season and scored a solitary goal while providing 7 assists. He is one of the few fullbacks in the world who is good both on the attacking and the defensive fronts, and signing him could be a better choice for Chelsea than going after Chilwell.
