While the Chelsea rumor mill has been dominated by the Jorginho-to-Juventus links, the Bianconeri also have an interest in a certain Emerson Palmieri as well.
According to Corriere dello Sport (via juvefc.com), while Juventus do have a bona fide interest in the 25-year-old Chelsea left back, they’re neither willing nor able to pay the €40m asking price. Therefore, they’re offering Mattia De Sciglio in exchange, but the Blues are not interested. Instead, Chelsea have apparently asked for Alex Sandro in return, who has been linked in the past (and the not too distant past) as well.
While earlier it was looking like Juve were targeting Emerson as an understudy to Alex Sandro, it now appears that the they would be willing to let the 29-year-old go, especially if he could bring in some much-needed funds. So it’s certainly possible that a swap could be arranged.
The report also claims that the two clubs are discussing a number of other deals as well, from the rumor mill stalwarts Jorginho and Miralem Pjanić, to the lesser-spotted Federico Bernardeschi.
And the transfer window isn’t even open yet!
